Maximal Fighter JetWith the adoption of the smaller Proto-Matter bodies by the Autobots (then later Maximals), a Fighter Jet was developed to maintain a prominent presence in the skies; one that could go toe-to-toe with Cybertronian Empire and Predacon fliers. The result was the Maximal Fighter Jet. Capable of flight and engagement both in Space and the atmosphere above a planet, these ships allowed pilots, who would have otherwise been outsized and outgunned by their adversaries, to handle themselves in air combat. Two fighters of this kind were refitted with TransWarp engines and put out as test ships for the technology The Lexor, and the Xelor. When the Predacons stole Proto-Matter technology and created smaller warriors themselves, they also attempted to produce a smaller fighter. But given the greater time to develop and hone the technology, the Maximal Fighters were a superior ship, and ran rings around the Predacon fighters.
The Legacy of BetrayalThe evil taint that exists within the Cybertronian race (explaining how a peaceful race could be capable of so much war) is a result of the original betrayal - when Megatronus turned on his fellow members of the 13 in their fight against Unicron.Primus created Cybertron's population using the process of Sacrifica, using the Sparks of the surviving members of the 13 (minus The Fallen), but at some point, Unicron taught The Fallen the process, who produced Sparks and, after fitting them with bodies, planted them within Cybertron's population. These new Cybertronian's weren't outwardly evil, but they unknowingly influenced the culture on Cybertron. This taint boiled under the surface until the outbreak of the Great War.Only with the destruction of Unicron will this taint be removed, but that is not to say that destruction is not a natural part of the Universe.
The SwarmThe Swarm was a by-product of the Sacrifica process that birthed Cybertron's original population.Over time, it became an all-enveloping black mass - a blind entity of destruction. It consumed Jhiaxus and his Armada, before making to devour Cybertron.Optimus Prime sacrificed himself to the Swarm in the hopes the light of the Matrix would purify it. His gamble paid off, and this long long child of Primus was given a new direction, becoming a creature of Creation rather than Destruction. In time, the Swarm would evolve into the intelligence known as the Vok.The Swarm's creation was not an accident. Primus created the entity with the plan that it would evolve to the point where it could combat and ultimately defeat Unicron in an event foretold in the Covenant of Primus as The Transcending. For The Swarm to reach this end, Primus instructed the survivors of his original 13 to await in deep Space for The Swarm, and allow themselves to be consumed so as to guide the burgeoning entity in it
ScuttleScuttle is a pilot and a member of the Maximal Air Defence (MAD) Wing.He took part in the protection of the Xelor as it attempted to make a successful TransWarp test in Cybertron's orbit.
FlattopFlattop is a pilot and a member of the Maximal Air Defence (MAD) Wing.He took part in the protection of the Xelor as it attempted to make a successful TransWarp test in Cybertron's orbit.
LashLash is a Predacon analyst. He is high up within the Predacon leadership, but holds no rank that would be respected by any Predacon - a thinker and a schemer rather than a soldier. He keeps track of the Predacons' resources, advising what may or may not be capable, and what needs acquiring to continue the fight.
SpiralSpiral is the leader of the Maximal Air Defense (MAD) Wing.A no nonsense but inspirational leader, he would have a great effect on the leadership style of Optimus Primal, who served under him.
Golden DisksThere are four Golden Disks.1 - The Golden Disk of Vok origin that was discovered by the Predacon Inferno during the events known as the Beast Wars.2 - The Golden Disk of Vok origin that was discovered by a tribe of Humans in South America that, after a bloody path through history, came to be in American possession in the 20th Century and identified as of alien manufacture, and of which the Voyager Golden disks were based.3 - The Golden Disk of Human origin that was launched aboard Voyager 2 in 1977. The Disk had a secret message inscribed on it by Soundwave, after the Hub Assault, in an attempt to influence the future and change the past. The Disk would become a relic of great importance to the Maximals after the Earth was destroyed.4 - The Golden Disk of Human origin that was launched aboard Voyager 1 in 1977. To the best of everyone's knowledge, it's still out in Space somewhere. It had no part in Cybertronian History.
The Autobot-Decepticon AllianceWith the arrival of the Cybertronian Empire, the Autobots and Decepticons declared a momentary truce and joined forces to tackle this new common foe. This was the Autobot-Decepticon Alliance. The Predacon leader Razorclaw would test the strength of the Alliance by raiding Autobot cargo ships travelling between Earth and Cybertron. This action prompted the creation of the Maximals, who, having signed no such Alliance, took the battle back to the Predacons. After the destruction of the Cybertronian Empire by The Swarm, the Alliance continued, as both Prime and Megatron knew that there was more to come in the future, as a dying Cybertronian Empire troop had let slip a name - The Liege Maximo.Raozorclaw, unaware of the coming storm, saw the continuing Alliance as a capitulation by Megatron. He laucnhed an attack on Earth, which resulted in the destruction of the planet, to announce the Predacon faction's separation from the Decepticon army. The Alliance would fight together in the Hub Ass
