A Lasercore Amplifier is a device that allows a Transformer to use their Core Consciousness to travel through a tear or hole in Reality (Space and Time) into Trans-Dimensional Space, with the intent of interacting with the Allspark. The process puts the Transformer's own Spark at great risk.
The Maximal Scientist, Csirac, developed the device with the intent of returning his Sparkmate, Venus, to life, after her death in an explosion from a failed TransWarp test.
Csirac returned the Sparks of the Autobots Prowl and Ironhide into new bodies during the final battle of the Great War. After Csirac's death, they would order the Scientist Rhinox to dismantle the device, but in doing so, understand how the device worked – just in case.
300 years later, during the Beast Wars, Rhinox would construct a similar device to return the Spark of Optimus Primal, who had just died in a TransWarp explosion which destroyed the Planet Buster Moon, to a new Transmetal body.
